A career as a Seaview crewmember guaranteed a sailor an exciting life, a prestigious job, and many tall tales to tell admiring listeners or--eventually, and if he was lucky--grandchildren. However, it was not without risk; in fact, I often think that the crew must receive hazardous duty pay as a matter of course. Oh, the officers are safe enough--most of them have their names in the credits--but for the common seaman, there were many opportunities to die in particularly grisly and painful ways.
This page is devoted to those unfortunate souls who never made it back to port.

- Killed on the Polidor
- Unknown number of unidentified crewmembers
- Killed on the Polidor. I would guess there may have been as many as 25, since the Seaview's crew was short-staffed at 100, and I seem to recall that it usually carried a crew of 125.
The Mist of Silence
- Farrell
- Killed by firing squad while captured by an enemy nation.
Submarine Sunk Here
- Hodges?

Note: Almost all web pages are by definition "under construction." That's more true of this one, which I've just begun work on, than of most. Thanks for your patience!
