Watched it religiously as a child and lately have been catching it early weekday mornings on SCI-FI. It's fun to watch. A question I've had is this...Was it broadcast in Black and White its first season? Thanks, David Jackman

Oh man I used to watch this show religiously when wsaz 3 Huntington WVA was showing it in weekly reruns on saturday afternoon and late LATE saturday nite (like 3 am - late for a 12 year old kid who had church in the morning). This was around 1979 to 1981 and i havent seen it since. Its too bad too. Unfortunatly it didnt build a giant cult fan base like star trek, Avengers, and (urrrk) Lost in space (the single worst show ever made with the possible exception of Land of the Giants). Oh well, life goes on. I expect that as the cable market gets more varied, we may be able to click a mouse and access the 20th century fox vault at our leisure. ANYWAYS I just wanted to thank you for the entertaining web page and for rejuvinating some plesant tv memories. Sure it's just a 40 year old show, but like that after dinner cigarette..it was always saisfying!!!! -JRB

I always loved watching "Voyage" as a kid. Then it disappeared, until I found it a couple of years ago at 8:00 every morning on the Space Channel (Canada). Watched it religiously, bt it seems to have disappeared again. Thanks for a great site, though! Enjoyed looking through it.

Saw the shows when I was very young so could hardly remember any particular episodes. Had always wanted to catch it again but somehow it never came back to our TVs. Really wish to catch the shows one day again, perhaps, on VCD.

I like your web page. It was fairly easy for someone like me who done know how to turn a computer to get to. I don't have a computer at home, so I have to when I have the time go to a local college and use one of theirs. I don't know if you know it or not, but Voyage is now showing on the Sci-Fi chan nel now. I think it was your site (I'm not sure) someone ask ed about where the show was being seen at and you (I'm not sure) said you didn't know of where. It runs Monday-Friday at 7:00AM you will have to check your local listing for the Sci-Fi Channel. Bye for now.

GOT THE MOVIE ON TAPE AND WATCHED THE SHOW RELIGIOUSLY. I'M A SELF-EMPLOYED HANDYMAN AND I DON'T WATCH TV TOO MUCH NOW BUT I CAN CATCH A LATE NIGHT GLIMPS OF RE-RUNS SOMETIMES WHEN THEY HAVE IT ON OUT HERE. THEY NEED TO BRING IT BACK ON MORE REGULAR FOR US DIE HARD FANS. I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE ON A SUB BUT THE SS THRESHER GOING DOWN IN 63 CHANGED MY MIND SO I GOT ON THE BIG BOYS, AIRCRAFT CARRIERS IN 64, WENT TO VIETNAM 4 CRUISES. I RETIRED IN 93 WITH NEARLY 23 YEARS SERVICE AND OVER 17 YEARS SEA DUTY ON THREE CARRIERS. SO BEING A PISCES AND A SAILOR GIVES ME SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE SEA. I LOVE THE OCEAN AND I LOVE TO FISH AND BEING AT SEA IS THE GREATEST WHEN YOU CAN LOOK OUT OVER THE OCEAN AND SEE THE BEAUTIFUL WAVES OF ITS CALM BUT PLEASE DON'T GET IT ALL UPSET BECAUSE IT'S NO JOKE. I'VE NEVER BEEN SEA SICK BUT I WOULD LAUGH AT THOSE WHO WERE. ON THE SHIP THEY CALL ME "WALT THE SALT". SO DO THE SAME. WALT THE SALT

What a great TV series. I fondly remember starting out each Sunday night with VTTBOTS. That wonderful theme music heralding the begining of a fantastic new adventure! Now I am able to start out each morning reliving those adventures on SCIFI! Things I loved about that show: First and foremost: Richard Basehart. One of our greatest and most underappreciated actors. His Admiral Nelson was head and shoulders above Walter Pidgeons interpretation. He brought strength and compassion to the role and a firm conviction of what was right and wrong. Based on the real father of America's nuclear fleet Himan Rickover, Nelson was brilliant without being aloof and strong without being stubborn. That magnificent voice and a real ability to bring subtle interpretations to his dialogue make RB a great, great Actor. Lee Crane/David Hedison: Lean and mean. Also a fine actor(although not quite in Basehart's class) A good physical counterpoint to the Admiral. The Seaview and Flying sub. Great sets and effects. Kudos to the model designers for bringing the future into our homes each week. The whole supporting cast esp. Chip Morton and Chief Sharkey. Perfectly cast but horrilbly underused Now the things I hated about the show. Irwin Allen! His cheapness in both pocketbook and storytelling often lead to a waste of great talent. Even as a seven year old kid I remember being mad because they never used Chip Morton, Doc(how generic can you get) and Sparks enough. I think Allen, like Ed Wood, just liked wearing jodpuhrs and carrying a megaphone and could care less about the finished product. Still VTTBOTS remains, along with Wild, Wild West and Star Trek, part of a golden age of TV adventure. they just don't make 'em like that anymore! Forget about a remake, who could possibly top Richard Basehart and company?!

Since I was 8 years old, I never forget to watch this fantastic undersea adventure TV series "Voyage to the Bottom to the Sea" that is still one of my favorite TV series of all time. It had a lot of devilish actions on this cool 1960's TV science fiction series that inspired us. YOu won't find anything for this uniqueness of actions on science fiction TV series nowaday in 1990's and 2000's because of political correctness. I read all episode plot synopses that helps me to remember for those exciting cliff-hanging plots within a few minutes before this TV programs ended. That made us a fun to watch! Long Live "Voyage to the Bottom to the Sea" and "Lost In Space"! Now, I am searching for whole video set of "Voyage to the Bottom to the Sea" for my collectible. WOuld you help me to find those video tapes? Many thanks to your wonderful website of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea!!! That's superb for us especially for loyal fans of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"!

Long before the advent of cable, back in television's "Dark Ages," I was a teen-ager unable to receive ABC's original broadcast of most episodes during "Voyage's" four-year run. Hey, my little remote corner of the world could only get the ABC affiliate if the weather were bad. Thanks to the Sci-Fi Channel for affording me the opportunity to play "catch up" on so many of the episodes that I missed during my youth. Of the 110 episodes my favorites are still "Ghost of Moby Dick," "Jonah and the Whale (even with its dull Goldsmith theme, thankfully jettisoned)," "Leviathan," and both "Phantom" episodes. I also noticed from your poll of favorite characters that Crane and Nelson were at the top. Sorry, guys, Kowalski was the man! Anyway, thanks for the great web site and the chance to share with other seagoing fans of the Seaview and her crew.

Thanks for your site! It's lots of fun! I was a big VTTBOTS fan as a child, too! I like the "What were they thinking?" section. I always tried to "look the other way" with some of those things. Two that always bothered me were that the "Seaview" seemed to always be skimming just under the surface even when it wasn't necessarily supposed to be. The same was true whenever the "Flying Sub" was launched. Also, I always wondered about the effects of the impact of the Flying Sub on its occupants when it would re-enter the water! Ouch! I recently found a Flying Sub model at a local hobby store. Hope to find a Seaview somewhere, too!

Hey Fellow Fans! It's been awhile since I've weighed in with any thoughts on VTTBS. Have visited this site periodically and continue to enjoy it. I enjoy reading the other entries in the guestbook. Some of them are quite clever. It's so great that the Sci-Fi Channel has VOYAGE back on again in the mornings. I start the VCR rolling every morning at 7am before I leave for work, so I've been taping alot of the episodes that I missed taping before. I'd like to try to find out if it's possible to transfer VHS material onto DVD, since the latter would last almost indefinitely. I can't believe it but here I am just a few months shy of turning 40 and I'm as hooked on the show as I was when I was a kid! That says something about the enduring appeal of the show. After watching some of those episodes from the first season I'm convinced that many of them were nothing short of excellent. It's hard to believe that Richard Basehart did not receive a Best Actor Emmy for his performance during season one(I wonder if he was nominated?) It's to bad the show could not avoid taking on the "Monster of the Week" format that it later fell into, but unfortunately that is what ABC was looking for after THE OUTER LIMITS got cancelled. I think VOYAGE would have gone on for even longer and enjoyed an even wider audience had they maintained the more realistic approach of the first 2 seasons. HOWEVER(and this is going to sound really cynical)I for one hope that they NEVER try to do a VOYAGE remake! CAN YOU IMAGINE THE HATCHET JOB THAT THE HOLLYWOOD OF TODAY WOULD DO ON A VOYAGE REMAKE!!!! Sure, the special effects would be killer, but they would undoubtedly do nothing but soil the memory of the original. Afterall, look what happened to MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! God bless the late Greg Morris(God rest his soul)for walking off the set of that movie because he didn't like what they were doing with the original concept. No, I'd much rather just live with the memories of the original VOYAGE movie and TV series(unless, of course, they let ME direct it!) As a closing thought, I never knew there were that many rapturous females out there who had the "hots" for Richard Basehart and David Hedison! Hey, how about a website for us guys devoted to the "babes" of VTTBS? Who could forget Linda Cristal, Jill Ireland, Yvonne Craig, Monique Lemaire, Francoise Ruggieri, Karen Steele, and of course(my favorite)Gia Scala(whoa baby!I could definitely handle being trapped inside a diving bell with her!)

I watched "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" when it was first telecast - it's hard to believe it's been over 30 years now! This was the all-time favorite TV show for me and my identical twin sister Rita. Being natives of Ohio we are naturally proud of Ohioan Richard Basehart and Admiral Harriman Nelson was our favorite character. Everything about this show - directors, writers, cast and guest stars - is absolutely the greatest! My sister and I loved the design of both SSRN Seaview and the Flying Sub. Too bad TV shows are made like this anymore. I remember when Richard Basehart died, my mother called me at work and said: "Admiral Nelson died." Of course, I knew immediately who she meant. Does anyone remember when STARLOG did the 2 issue story followed by episodes guides on "Voyage"? They did a fantastic job on a fantastic TV show!

It has taken me a few years to get round to actually signing the guest book but here goes! It is a wonderful website, with new bits being added all the time. Please keep up the good work, I enjoy it very much and I'm sure I'm not the only one from reading all the entries in the guest book. I've surfed just about all the Voyage and Voyage related sites (or should I say, all those that I have found) and found each and everyone of them great. It's wonderful to know that so many people out there remember the show with such fond memories. We come together well, let's keep it that way. love to all, wendi. xxx

Wow! I can't believe how many people are like me! I didn't know how many people loved it as much as I do!I love VTTBOTS!! My most favourite episode is Escape From Venice. I watch it on the Space Channel, and record it everyday. It comes on very early, one episode at 5:00, and another at 6:00. I belive I've seen every episode, and I just can't get enogh of it. I read through the guest book, and a lot of people saw it when it first aired. I'm 14 years old. So, I didn't. It must have been exciting for all you, to wait a week, and then watch the show. Especially, when they showed a glimpse of what was coming on next week. I love the show like mad, and can see I'm not the only one!!!!!!!!

Just joined the WWW, and having great fun finding my childhood! I was a big fan of "Voyage" and also "The Invaders"; they were BIIIIIG parts of my growing-up. I've got several of the books, annuals, comics etc and am very pleaed about that. I can still remember the thrill of waiting for the next episode, seeing trailers (not every ten seconds like nowadays!!) and pretending....it's oddly comforting to realise that I'm not the only person who wanted to BE Lee Crane. Incidentally, I can also remember being really disappointed when I saw the movie and David Hedison was nowhere to be found. I became a big fan of his, and have followed his career whenever poss. I still remember the episode he did of a horror series - was it "Journey to the Unknown", anyway the one with the roller coaster start and the whistled theme - which I think was called "lonely In A Crowd" or something like that. THAT'S the sort of thing I want to see repeated!! Good to see the set up. Keep voyaging!

Voyage is an early memory for me, and much of it I don't recall. For many years my sole connection with the show was a couple of stories in an old annual, an article in a book, and the 1961 movie. Then in the early 1990s a local network aired a batch of episodes, 18 or so out of 110! It was wonderful to be able to come to grips with it again, and learn a whole lot that had been forgotten. Now I'm producing fanzines, and having a mega-sized whale of a time! Best to all, Mike Adamson Entropy Express

What a wonderful sight dedicated to Voyage! Back in 1995 I got the chance to see and hold the original "FLYING SUB" that was a great honor for me thanks to Mr. Bob Burns! I was 9 years old when this show first premiered and going though this Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea page sure brings back great memories! In 1979 at a convention in San Jose California Bob Burns showed rare make up tests and effects shots from Voyage, I only wish fans today could see what I saw back in 1979!

Glad to find this site, have watched Voyage to the Botton of the Sea from the mid 60's. This is the show that started me on sci-fiction & it was the mother of all sci-fiction shows to me. It hooked me & has has kept me hooked all these years. I wish it was back on air I would tape them all then I would watch them again & again. This is the show of shows for me. I just loved David Hedison & Richard Basehart as Lee Crane & Admiral Nelson. We have lost a great actor in Richard but he has left us good shows & films to remember him by. Just wish Australian TV stations would put it back on. It is a great show the show lines are good even if the film is dated it is a show I would like my kids to watch instead of whats on TV now for them. Bring back the Oldies like Voyage for us to watch.

I remember vividly watching Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea when it first aired. Every aspect of the show; the incredible submarine, her brave crew, and the fantastic adventures was something I looked forward to week after week. I loved everything about the show (I must've had the Aurora Seaview submarine kit at least 3 different times before age 10...they just didn't hold up well against giant cats & dogs, younger brother, various cousins, friends and occasional forays into the bathtub). I currently have a few episodes on video as well as the movie which really bring back those childhood memories from NYC. Thanks for this website...it's great!!!

I remember watching "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" as a toddler. Although I don't remeber if I really understood then what the show was about, I do remember enjoying it, but, by and by, it seemed to disappear from the TV listings. It was some five years ago that a local cable station (late night) started showing Voyage as part of its late-viewing line-up and then as part of its summer line-up (during which I taped every episode, rediscovering the episodes I did remember and discovering ones that I'm pretty certain I never got to see when I was little. Since Voyage started showing (in better, more complete prints) on our version of the Sci-Fi Channel -called Space: the Imagination Station- I have re-copied every episode. My family still can't figure out my "obsession" with the show, but what to "figure out"? It's my favorite show and as far as I know, always will be.

I have been a fan of *Voyage* ever since it was first aired in 19964. Irwin Allen was a great writer and producer. His downfall was his staff writers. Believe me, the fanzines (including the SLASH ones) have better, less hackneyed writing in them than what was written during the last half of the third all of the fourth season. What a shame that Irwin Allen's brainchild was destroyed by such incompetent scriptwriters. Write to me.

I loved Voyage & Time Tunnel (still do)!! I also liked Star Trek. However if I had to choose between Lee Crane & Jim Kirk, my reply would be a resounding "GO NAVY"!!! David Hedison took what could easily have been a one dimensional character & turned him into role model. Richard Basehart did the same & then some with Admiral Nelson. Thanks for this site. It ROCKS!!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Dowdell (Chip Morton) back in 1963. I was only 15 at the time and he took the time to show a young starstruck country girl from a farm in Arizona that he was appreciative of his fans. At that time he was in "Stoney Burke" with Jack Lord and I liked his character Cody Bristol. I wrote him fan letters and he actually answered them! We exchanged letters over at least a year's time. When I wrote that my family and I were coming to California on vacation he extended an invitation for us to meet him at his home. It was an experience I will never forget. I have heard that Bob has pulled away from the limelight in any way and has no connection with the Hollywood scene any more. I wish there was a way to relay a message to him that the kindess he showed 37 years ago to a shy little country girl has never ever been forgotten.

Voyage is one of my all time favorite shows. The episode I love the most is "The Deadly Dolls", it reunited Vincent Price and David Hedison. Because I saw the show when I was a child I always thought that the admiral and the captain were enemies, not until now when I had a chance to watch the episodes again did I find out what was really going on. I wish that the SciFi channel would play the episodes without cutting them up to make room for more commericals. It's pretty frustrating to be right in the middle of an exciting scene and thats when the break for a commerical. I wish that the episodes were available on tape so I could buy them. I know that Columbia House did sell them but only a few episodes not the whole set. I'm using my brothers terminal and I don't have his web address available, I only know that it contains the name puddy-tat. If any knows where I could get uncut, restored copies at a reasonable price please let me know. This is one show that has been over looked and never given it's proper credit for what it tributed to tv.

I watched VTTBTS as a young boy when it was on the network in prime time. Then I saw it again in the late 60's or early 70's when it was in syndication. And then in 1993 I was able to see it again and tape all the episodes while it was on the Sci-Fi Channel. It's always been one of my favorite shows...I especially like Admiral Nelson, Captain Crane and the Flying Sub. I got my girlfriend interested in the series when it was on the Sci-Fi Channel and she interviewed David Hedison for an hour back in 1994 when she was working as a talk show host on WGMD Radio inRehoboth Beach, Delaware. I wish the Sci Fi Channel would put it back on the air and leave it there! Even they seem to value "Lost In Space" more highly than "Voyage"!

I watched Escape from Venice last night--I was sure I'd seen all episodes at least once, but there were scenes I didn't remember at all. Definitely an episode worth multiple viewings, though :). (Test message, hoping the thing is still working!)

Thanks so very much for relaying all of the information! Particularly with the plot descriptions. The show airs daily here around 4:AM, and sometimes I tape them and watch them later. Now that my local affiliate is issuing the names of the episodes on its web site, I can judge from your descriptions whether I wish to view this particular episode... one more time.

Hi Hester. I'm relatively new to the internet and just recently stumbled upon your site. This is incredible! Thru this site, the Columbia House Video tapes of VTTBOTS episodes(of which I have purchased all five tapes), and the current showings of Voyage on the Sci-Fi channel I have rediscovered the show that I watched religiously(so to speak) in it's syndicated form all thru the '70s. What a great show it was and still is today, probably my all-time favorite. It remains one of the best-loved and most significant sci-fi series in television history, and I am enjoying it no less at age 37 than I did at age 12. Its refreshing to know there are so many fellow fans out there, and I feel like we are finally getting our due. I was just under 4 yrs old when the show originally aired in Sept. 1964, so I don't remember having watched any of the black & white episodes from the first season(although I think that these were some of the best!). I can only vaguely remember watching some of the episodes from the second season, and I remember more vividly gathering around the tube at 7pm on Sunday nights to watch episodes from the third and fourth seasons with my Mom, Dad, and brothers. To watch it now brings back memories both of the show and the era in which it aired. But like a lot of other devotees of the show, I grew up on Voyage and got to know & appreciate it best when it went into syndication, and I seldom ever missed an episode. For awhile it seemed to have fallen out of syndication in the '80s, but I never totally forgot about the show or the actors. Now I have "found" it all over again. This is like going to a reunion and meeting up with old shipmates whom you have not seen in years! Richard Basehart did such a great job as Admiral Nelson(God bless him, he was great in just about everything he appeared in!). And any kid who grew up watching David Hedison play the heroic Captain Crane undoubtedly dreamed of being a nuclear sub skipper someday. And who can forget the capable XO Chip Morton, Chief "Curly" Jones, Chief Sharkey, Sparks, the Doc, Kowalski, Patterson, and of course Stu Rielly(it's a riot to listen to his mid-60s "surfer dude" lingo!). Not only is the tv series still great fun to watch, but the original 1961 film with Walter Pidgeon and Barbara Eden that spawned the series is still enjoyable(the acting in the movie may be rather "hokie" by today's standards, but the special effects and underwater photography are still quite stunning). I think without a doubt Voyage was the best of the four series that Irwin Allen produced. I have always felt that Voyage has been given "short shrift" in comparison with that other 1960's sci-fi tv favorite Star Trek. For years we "Voyagers" have had to put up with all these "Trekkie" people and their harping(no offense to the original Star Trek series with Shatner and Nimoy which I also watched regularly in syndication and enjoyed, but I have never been able to get into any of the current tv or film manifestations of Star Trek, and I always preferred Voyage over Star Trek anyway). It's interesting to note that both James Doohan and George Takei made guest appearances on episodes of Voyage. At any rate, suffice it to say I have always been a big fan of Voyage and will continue to tape as many episodes as I can. The only complaints I have about the Sci-Fi channel's showings of it are the quality and I also notice they have snipped out a few scenes here and there from some episodes. I really wish Columbia House would come out with some more remastered tapes of Voyage episodes. The quality was great! I'll have to visit your site regularly because there is so much more I'd like to share about the show, and I also enjoy reading what others have to say about it. In the meantime keep up the good work!(Sorry that this has gone on so long).

Great site! I really enjoy VTTBOTS and I have a few episodes (from Columbia House Video) so I can see the brave crew of the Seaview in action. I was born the year the series came on but I remember watching the reruns on syndication as a kid. I had the biggest crush on David Hedison (Lee Crane), matter of fact I still do! I really love each and everyone one of the characters and the actors who played them. I would like to see them make a movie, but with the original cast. Until then, I'll enjoy the reruns on cable. Does anyone know where I can get any of the the comic books that they did on VTTBOTS? Thanks for a great site!

I can´t understand why isn´t Harriman leading the survey results. Nelson is the cutes guy, the most inteligent and in a word: the best. All those who read these lines and want to contact me for speaking about Harriman Nelson or Richard Basehart (the best actor all over the world and beyond, and the most wonderful voice I´ve ever heard) are very wellcome to write me (please, do!!!). And those who are not agree with me and want to discuss my point of view are, of course, very wellcome to write me too.Come on, I´m waiting.

Submarines have been an interest for over 40 years, and Voyage one of my favorite shows. Voyage was one of my favorite TV shows as I was growing up, and I am pleased to be able to share my thoughts with others who also treasure the series. When I watched the reruns as a teenager, I was impressed with the quality of the musical score which accompanied the action; this music is thrilling to listen to even today. I have taped a lot of the music and often listen to it on my way to work. If anyone else shares my love of the musical score, or has any information on it, please let me know at my e-mail address. Also, I'm curious if anyone has ever figured out the "floor plan" of the Seaview. I was always impressed by the maze of corridors, and wonder what the set must have looked like when the show was in production.

It brings back memories from my childhood, as I was in elementary school when it went off the air. Richard Basehart had such a great voice. He always conveyed intelligence and charisma (of an authoritative sort). David Hedison was also dynamic in his role. I recall one of the black-and-white episodes that had David's father as a guest star. Thank you for creating and maintaining this Website.

Does anyone know how I can purchase a copy of Mr. Phillips' book? I haven't seen it in any bookstores--Borders, Barnes & Noble, Walden, and B. Dalton just to name a few. Where any of you at the Chiller Theatre Expo in April. David Hedison seemed rather quiet and reserved. I have not the slightest idea why. Perhaps his mind was on other matters. Does anyone know if there are any plans for any actors from the series to appear at any conventions in the PA, NJ, DE, or NY areas?

yes. thank goodness for those oversize, easy to enter (at least if your an actor!) airducts. A note: Voyage apparently doesn't come on Sci-Fi channel anymore. Does anyone know if it will be renewed? (I don't think I can make it without some episodes (airducts or not!) I wish a network would have a voyageathon or at least a submarine marathon for us deep sea loving fans. Does anyone know how many references to air duct travel can be found among VTTBOTS's plots? Episode 12 from season 1 has one, but I'm sure there are more. Great info! So glad to see so many others enjoying the popular sci-fi stories of the 60's. I'm tracking down a co-star Mark Slade who played Malone on the series and was in the original cast of the movie. Anybody know what he is doing, any bio info would be appreciated. I'll check out that lead from Mark Phillips on the recent Sci-Fi TV book he wrote. The search goes on... Thanks for a great web page.

wow! It was really great to find this site. thanks to whoever made it. I have always loved Voyage. My dad & I would watch it together when I was growing up in Canada. (I was born in Newfoundland so I've always had a love for the ocean) One thing I really like about the episodes is that they have clean language (proof positive that you don't have to swear when you get mad-need more people these days with self control) moved here in 1980 and married my wife. Thanks so much for this site! I grew up in England in the 60s, and "Voyage" was by far my favorite show. The episode "Cave of the Dead" began a pattern of nightmares in which I was pursued by living skeletons.... the nightmares lasted years, but I never stopped watching the show. Favorite episode: either "Cave of the Dead", or the episode in which the Seaview rescued the survivors of a WW2 submarine trapped for 40 years in the cave of a volcanic island. And good old Admiral Nelson - gone to that great Marine Research Institute in the Sky... Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

After reading the letter from Mark Phillips, I read the artical in Starlog Yearbook, and fount it very interesing. I also ordered the Science Fiction Television Series book that he co-authored, and it's rather expensive. Barnes and Noble had to oder it from the publisher and said it will cost $75.00! If anyone knows where I could get it cheaper, I'd like to hear about it.

This is a marvelous site for Voyage, well researched and informative. Great work, Hester! Like most everyone here, I grew up watching Voyage. In the last few years, it's been nice to see Jay Leno, Drew Carey, Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, Tim Allen and other celebrities express fondness for the series. I had the good fortune to co-write the book SCIENCE FICTION TELEVISION SERIES (McFarland) recently and Voyage was one of the 62 TV series exhaustively covered. Many Voyage people granted us exclusive interviews - David Hedison, Terry Becker, Nigel Mckeand, Pat Priest, Joe Tata, Mark Slade, Larry Montaigne, the late Jock Gaynor, George Lindsey, former ABC President Tom Moore and many others.. For those wondering about Del Monroe, there's a full-length interview with "Kowalski" in the current STARLOG YEARBOOK (Xena cover). I mention all this because for years Voyage material was almost impossible to find. Jack and Jill magazine did a beautiful color photo-story of the Voyage episode, "Journey with Fear" in 1968; Famous Monsters did 'Fires of Death" as a photo story in 1969, but it's only been in the last few years that Voyage has received well deserved attention. This web site is an example of that. Keep up the great work, Hester.

I've been a fan of Voyage ever since it first aired on TV. I was just a kid then, but, I was hooked at first glance. I still watch the episodes aired on the SCI Fi Channel, and have quite a few of them on video tape. My favorite characters are Admiral Nelson, Chief Sharkey, Kowalski, & Patterson. I also liked the doctor (Richard Bull). There was also an actor who appeared in almost every episode as a seaman, sometimes he wore the red coverall and sometimes he wore the blue. He was a short, kind of stocky fellow, with very black hair, and dark complexion. Do you have any idea who that actor is? I'd love to know his name.

I was in 2nd grade when I was watching the first run of Voyage on Sunday nights at I think 7:00 and it was a treat for me to be allowed to watch it. I was punished one night and wasn't allowed to watch it so I went to bed that night crying my eyes out . My sister and I used to play out our own version of the show in our home instead of playing "house". I was married to Capt. Crane and I made my sister be married to Admr. Nelson. Now I prefer experience and wisdom so I am a huge fan of Richard Baseha rt. I am extremely pleased to see a website dedicated to these people and the great show they created. I would love to chat with other fans of this show. If anyone is interested, I'll be waiting to hear from you. Thanks to the creator of this site for giving me a thrill!

Hi Hester, love your site. Like Melanie I was only 9 when VTTBOTS came out and even now the sound of the ping of the sonar (hope that is the correct word) brings back fond memories. My first crush was on Kowalski - good to know he is still about - bu t I longed to grow up into a man and join the crew - do they have female crew members yet on submarines I wonder? Here in Adelaide, South Australia we have been building submarines for the navy but I've never even been on a tour of one. I still love submarine films....especially Crimson Tide. Haven't seen an episode of VTTBOTS for years - the one I remember most (I think) is when a mad scientist became a very large piece of seaweed and tried to destroy the Seaview.....it was a long time ago since I saw it.....do you know which one I mean. Keep up the good work.

W-a-y back in 1963, when I was 15, I got to meet Bob Dowdell (Chip Morton) in person, at his home. I had been an avid fan of Stoney Burke, Bob's first series, and wrote him fan letters all the time. He was kind enough to answer man of them. I lived on a farm in Arizona, but was coming to CA for a vacation and he invited me and my family to come and visit him at his home, and we did! It was only about a 30 minute visit, but it has been an experience that has lived with me all these years......I've t ried to locate him over the years so I could thank him for his kindness, but never seem to be able to find a way to get mail to him. So maybe he'll see my message...or if anyone knows where he might receive mail.....I'd sure appreciate. I followed him f aithfully through all the episodes and re-runs of VTTBOTS and still think it was one of the best shows of it's time.

Frankly, as a kid of the 60's, I have to say that I didn't like 'Voyage' at all. Sometime in the late 70's I discovered it all over again and slowly started to really, really like it. Now I am a Richard Basehart fan. I am just sorry that he isn't ar ound to see it. I spoke to Terry Becker at a convention in Pasadena and he himself said that Richard would be really surprised and happy to see all the attention to 'Voyage'. I also spoke to Del Monroe and he and his wife were surprised at what kind of impact 'Voyage' had on all the fans and that there were so many fans to boot. Now I am such a hard core fan that I have started to do a lot of voyage model kits. Want an example? Go see the FS I did in the 'Sub Committe' page. Keep up the good work.
