Aunt Sukey's Choice
1. Cut the pieces.

From background fabric (white) cut the following:
- 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch square--cut 12. These are your A squares.
- 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 inch square--cut 1, then cut in quarters diagonally to make 4 triangles (see below). These are your B triangles.
- 2 7/8 X 2 7/8 inch square--cut 4, then cut each in half diagonally for a total of 8 triangles; these are your C triangles.

From red fabric, cut:
- 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch square--cut 4. These are your A squares.
From light green fabric, cut:
- 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 inch square--cut 1, then cut in quarters diagonally to make 4 triangles (see below). These are your B triangles.
- 2 7/8 X 2 7/8 inch square--cut 4, then cut each in half diagonally for a total of 8 triangles; these are your C triangles.
From dark green fabric, cut:
- 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch square--cut 1. This is your D square.
These colors are only to illustrate the pattern--use any colors you like, of course!
2. Sew the B and C triangles together into rectangles.

You'll be making:
- 4 white/green/white rectangles
- 4 green/white/green rectangles
3. Sew two of each of the following strips.

You'll be making 2 of each of these strips.
4. Sew the following strip.

You'll be making 1 of this strip.
5. Arrange the strips as shown.

6. Assemble the block!
