Quilt Block Patterns

Last updated January 28, 1997.

Just a couple of words of warning!

First, I worked these patterns out to use in a sampler quilt; therefore, although the patterns for four-patch and nine-patch blocks are for 12 inch blocks, the patterns for five-patch blocks are actually 11 7/8 inch blocks, and the seven-patch blocks work out to 12 1/4 inches (I didn't want to use anything smaller than 1/8 inch in figuring the measurements). I don't find that easing that amount is too hard, and I think the difficulty is more than compensated by my being able to include a wider range of blocks in my quilts. OTOH, I'm not the most precise machine-piecer in the world and easing doesn't bother me much--if you are more accurate than I am (which is not unlikely :)) you might not like the not-quite-12-inch blocks!

Second, I haven't made all of these blocks yet. I plan to, but it's likely to be a long-term project. I'll indicate which blocks have not yet been "tested," so caveat quiltor :).
