Basket
1. Cut the pieces.

From background fabric (white) cut the following:
- 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch square--cut 1. This is your A square.
- 2 1/2 X 8 1/2 inch rectangle--cut 2. These are your E rectangles
- 2 7/8 X 2 7/8 inch square--cut 7, then cut diagonally to make 14 triangles. These are your B triangles.
- 8 7/8 X 8 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles, of which you will use only 1. This is your D triangle.
- 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 inch square--cut 1, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles, of which you will use only 1. This is your F triangle
From blue fabric, cut:
- 2 7/8 X 2 7/8 inch square--cut 9, then cut diagonally to make 18 triangles. These are your C triangles.
White and blue are only for illustration--use any colors you like!
2. Sew the B and C triangles together to make squares.

You'll be making:
You will also have 4 blue C triangles left over.
3. Sew one each of the following five strips.

5. Sew strips c, d, and e into the following unit:

6. Sew one of the extra blue triangles onto the above unit:

7. Sew the white D triangle to the above unit to make a large square:

8. Sew strip b to the large square:

9. Add strip a.

10. Sew the remaining two blue C triangles to the white E rectangles as shown:

11. Attach to the rest of the block as shown:

12. Sew the white F triangle to the corner of the block as shown:

Admire your work--the block is done!
