Bachelor's Puzzle
1. Cut the pieces.

From background fabric (white) cut the following:
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut each in half diagonally for a total of 4 half-square triangles. These are your A triangles.
- 4 3/4 X 4 3/4 inch square--cut 1. This is your C square.
Note: you may want to cut this one on the bias to preserve the grainline of the block, since it's set into the block on point. However, this would make the square more difficult to handle, and it isn't strictly necessary.
From green fabric, cut:
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 4, then cut each in half diagonally for a total of 8 half-square triangles. These are your A triangles.
From pink fabric, cut:
- 3 7/8 X 3 7/8 inch square--cut 4, then cut each in half diagonally for a total of 8 half-square triangles. These are your A triangles.
From blue fabric, cut:
- 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch square--cut 4. These are your B squares.
These colors are only to illustrate the pattern--use any colors you like, of course!
2. Sew the triangles together into squares.

You'll be making:
- 4 green/white squares
- 4 green/pink squares
You'll have 4 pink triangles left.
3. Sew the remaining 4 pink triangles to the large center square.

4. Sew two of each of the following strips.

You'll be making:
- 2 short strips
- 2 long strips
5. Sew the two short strips to the large center square, making a wide center strip.

6. Arrange the strips as shown.

7. Sew the block together!
