Air Castle
1. Cut the pieces.

From background fabric (white) cut the following:
- 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut each diagonally to make 2 triangles, for a total of 4. These are your A triangles.
- 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 inch square--cut 1. Cut into quarters along the diagonals, as illustrated below; these are your 4 B triangles.
- 2 7/8 X 2 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut each diagonally to make 2 triangles, for a total of 4. These are your F triangles.

From pink fabric, cut:
- 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles, for a total of 4. These are your C triangles.
From green fabric, cut:
- 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 inch square--cut 2, then cut diagonally to make 2 triangles, for a total of 4. These are your D triangles.
- 3 3/8 X 3 3/8 inch square--cut 1. This is your G square.
Note: you may want to cut this one on the bias to preserve the grainline of the block, since it's set into the block on point. However, this would make the square more difficult to handle, and it isn't strictly necessary.
From blue fabric, cut:
- 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 inch square--cut 1. Cut into quarters along the diagonals, as illustrated above; these are your 4 E triangles.
Pink, white, blue, and green are just for illustration--use any colors you like.
2. Sew the triangles together into squares.
First, sew the B and E triangles together into larger triangles, like this:

You'll be making:
Then, sew the triangle units to the green D triangles to make squares, like this:

You'll be making:
3. Sew the A amd C triangles together to make squares:

You'll be making:
4. Sew two of the small white F triangles to the G square, like this:

Then, add the other two F triangles to make a square:

5. Sew the squares into strips:

4. Sew the block together:

The block is done!
